Advisory – New EU Server Location & IP Address and TLS Deprecation Reminder

As many in Europe may be aware, on March 10th the largest cloud hosting provider in Europe OVH suffered catastrophic fires at their datacenter location in Strasburg. Read more about the event here.

Melissa was materially impacted by this fire as we have multiple servers hosted at this location that were lost to the fire. Fortunately, our infrastructure was designed to not rely on any single location and traffic was automatically routed to our UK and France datacenter locations with minimal disruption.

As a consequence of this incident, we are adding new servers in Frankfurt, Germany to service our clients’ needs. This means that traffic to our service can possibly be routed to a new IP Address. This may have an impact on clients that require IP Addresses to be whitelisted in their firewall. If that applies to your organization, please take this opportunity to review the IP Address ranges that Melissa uses as well as add this new location.

Urgent Reminder

Please be aware of the upcoming deprecation of the compromised TLS 1.0 and 1.1 technology for our web services. Starting the week of April 26, 2021, we will no long support web service connections using TLS 1.0 and 1.1 and will require TLS 1.2 or higher. Please see further information here.
