Product Advisory: Global Express Entry – Major Engine Improvements

Beginning April 2025, major improvements to Express Entry’s Autocomplete functionality and database will be rolled out in batches of countries throughout the year – beginning with South Africa, Monaco and Philippines. These updates will eventually occur for all countries and aim to bring our Global Address Web Service and Global Express Entry products in sync to improve the overall accuracy of the autocomplete functionality and data.

What kind of changes should we expect?
The improvements in the engine will bring about changes including (but not limited to):

  • Better search algorithm for finding matching addresses
  • Improvements to the formatted address output to follow each country’s respective preferred postal formatting standards
  • Casing improvements
  • Removal/Correction of bad data, addition of good data and other data changes
  • Improvements to transliteration

Are there any code changes needed to be done on the client side?
No. All the upcoming improvements are seamless and will be automatically applied as improvements roll out for various countries. It does not require any code changes.

What is the schedule for releasing the engine improvements for other countries?
There is no set schedule for when the improved engine will roll out for each country. Depending on the readiness of each country and if a country has scored high in our QA marks during testing, we will release each country as they become ready for release.
