Melissa and MSSQLTips recently held a webinar titled “Accurate Data for Decision Making: How to Improve Business Insights”. We’re excited to share with you a brief recap and tell you more about Melissa’s new data marketplace. If you’re interested in watching the full webinar, make sure to check it out here!
Have you heard of GIGO? It stands for ‘garbage in, garbage out’, and it’s the idea that the quality of your output data can only be as good as the quality of your input data. If your data is dependent on customer input, for example, there could be missing fields, typos or duplicates. If these exist in your data, then using your data for analysis or communications will be full of errors as well.
Melissa Marketplace is a place where you can get many different types of data in an easy to use format. Our data corrects and standardizes yours, as well as fills in missing gaps. Some of our most popular include:
- Global Address Database, which houses over 200+ million records of residential and business addresses, including PO Boxes. Data includes all parts of an address, as well as latitude/longitude and elevation.
- Households, with 300+ fields like household income, marital status, presence of children, and more.
- Businesses, which includes contact records, number of employees, and more.
- Property, with owner name, tax assessment, lot size, and more.
- GIS Data, with points and polygons, building footprints, and many different boundaries like state and county, legislative, carrier routes and more.
Daniel, Melissa's Chief Data Officer, also showed a few examples of what you can do with our data, including a demo of our Cicero database, which houses elected official and district data, an interactive graphic about the recent eclipse and what addresses it touched, and how the Melissa Marketplace functions. If you want to dive deeper into Melissa’s data and check out these demonstrations, make sure to watch the full webinar!
