Personator Web Service – Version 5.2 Release

Version 5.2 of the Personator Web Service can now be consumed using the Release Candidate Endpoint:

rcpersonator.melissadata.net

This is a major update that involves the addition of new elements in the Request/Response Structure which in effect also changes the WSDL definitions. The official endpoint (personator.melissadata.net) will be updated to Personator Version 5.2 according to the update timeline. Details can be found on the wiki link below.

Who is Affected

The addition of new elements in the request/response structure is considered a backwards compatible change that most programming languages are able to support. Certain languages and libraries, however, are not able to dynamically support the addition of new elements in the request/response structure and must take this into consideration. We have seen this to be predominantly true with Java users that generate proxy classes using the Personator SOAP Endpoint.

If your Web Service Integration does not support the addition of new elements in the request/response structure, please follow the update procedures in the provided wiki link below.

Web Service integrations, however, that do support this are still recommended to test the new endpoint to make sure that the update will be seamless.
