Introducing the Usage WS API: Account-Wide Usage Visibility, On Demand

We're excited to introduce the Usage WS API, a new RESTful web service that gives you programmatic access to account-wide usage metrics across all of your subscriptions.

Overview

Until now, checking usage across multiple subscriptions meant logging into your account and checking multiple usage tabs to then manually consolidate all that information. The Usage WS API changes that. With a single request, authenticated using any active license key on your account, you can retrieve consolidated usage data spanning all of your subscriptions in real time.

This means you can build usage visibility directly into the tools and workflows your team already relies on, rather than piecing it together after the fact.

Use Cases

• Centralized reporting: If your account spans several subscriptions or product lines, the Usage WS API lets you pull one consolidated view instead of reconciling multiple reports by hand.
• Proactive monitoring and alerting: Poll the API on a schedule and trigger internal alerts when usage approaches a threshold, so your team is never caught off guard by unexpected consumption.
• Custom dashboards: Pipe usage metrics into your business tools or internal dashboards for a real-time view tailored to how your team likes to see the data.
