Melissa Data Report from Oracle OpenWorld 2010

This year, Oracle OpenWorld was bigger than ever. With the recent
acquisition of Sun MicroSystems, this year’s event also featured MySQL Sunday
and the JavaOne conference. Held in downtown San Francisco
at the Moscone Center, this conference featured tens of
thousands of attendees and hundreds of exhibitors (one of which was us). This
event wasn’t all work though, as Oracle is also very good at making sure their
guests have a good time. After hours events included OktoberFest and their annual
appreciation event on Treasure Island. This
year’s acts included the Black Eyed Peas and Don Henley from the Eagles.

Melissa Data was in Moscone West this year, in booth 3313. In
fact, we were right next to the gaming zone. We had a very productive event
this year, meeting lots of interested developers, administrators, and managers.
Of special interest was our Contact Verification Server, which contains our own
WebSmart Web Services and can be hosted internally for a company, so no data
leaves their premises. We also handed out USB drives as a special gift to
attendees. If you were not able to visit our booth this year, come by next year
and see what gifts we are giving away!
